The Ritz cinema Armagh

The Ritz Cinema was built for the Union Cinemas chain, but they were taken over by the Associated British Cinemas(ABC) chain in October 1937, and this cinema opened 6th December 1937.

ABC closed the Ritz Cinema on 23rd February 1974. It was taken over by the Rice Brothers (an independent operator) and they closed the Ritz Cinema in 1977. It has since been demolished and the Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre now stands on the site.
