The Jewell Theatre was situated in the old Havelock community and was first advertised in the Lincoln Star October 12, 1923.
Film Daily March 28, 1923, reported that J.W. Hoffman had leased a new theatre being erected by T.J. McLaughlin, and on July 1, 1923 Film Daily noted the theatre had opened.
A recap of Havelock construction, published in the Lincoln Star in January 1924 noted the three-story brick building, which housed the Jewell Theatre, was built by J.H. McLaughlin. Sanborn Maps 1928 lists the brick and tile walled building at 1410 O Street, between 14th Street and 15th Street. In 1930 O Street became Havelock Avenue, 14th Street became 62nd Street and 15th Street became 63rd Street.
The Jewel Theatre was listed for the last time in Film Daily Year Book 1929 in Havelock, not Lincoln, with 300 seats.
