Located in Blidworth, Nottinghamshire to the south of Mansfield. The Scala Cinema was opened on 25th December 1935 and had a dance hall attached. It was designed by architectural firm Bocock & Kirk who were based in Mansfield. It was equipped with a British Talking Pictures(BTP) sound system and was operated by Sheffield and District Cinematograph Theatres Ltd. It was closed on 24th December 1959 (but was still listed in editions of Kine Yearbook up to 1966 when a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system had been fitted).
