Located in Reddish to the east of Greater Manchester, two miles north of Stockport. The Reddish Picture Hall was adjacent to the Bull’s Head Hotel and opened in April 1913. It was re-named Pavilion Cinema in 1917. In 1926 & 1927 it was operated by the J.F. Emery Circuit. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system in 1929.

In early-1932 it was taken over by the Jackson & Newport Ltd. chain and re-named Embassy Cinema. On the afternoon of 8th December 1933 it was gutted by a fire which began at the screen end of the building. The film playing that week was Wheeler & Wolsey in “So This Is Africa”. The front of the building was retained, but it too was later demolished and shops were built on the site.

Note: In June 1937 plans were proposed for a Bijou Electric Theatre designed by Henry F. Elder of architectural firm Wood & Elder for operators Jackson & Newport (Reddish) Ltd. It was never built.
