Queen's Picture Theatre

Located in Hollinwood to the southwest of Oldham, Lancashire. Opened by William Brown as Brown’s Picture Hall, by 1915 it had been re-named Queen’s Picture Theatre. Seating was provided in stalls & circle levels, with two slips containing seats extending from the front sides of the circle to the proscenium. Around 1929 it was equipped with a British Talking Pictures(BTP) sound system, later replaced by a GB-Kalee sound system. The Queen’s Picture Theatre was still open in 1958, but had closed by 1961 when it was converted into a Wild Bingo Club.
