Opened in 1898 as the Variete-Teatret, it was remodeled in 1902 to the plans of architect C.A. Wiinholt. In 1907 it became a cinema named Parisienne which operated until 1909. In 1913 it reopened as a cinema named Vesterbros Theater.

CinemaScope was installed in 1958 and it was re-named Vester-Bio screening double feature programmes. In 1972 it was re-named City Bio and was closed in 1989.

It has since been demolished and the Comfort Hotel Vesterbro now stands on the site.
