The Ritz Theatre opened in 1932, replacing Folkston’s first theatre, the Paxton Theatre, which was only equipped to show silent films. The Ritz Theatre was the showplace for Folkston until the larger and more modern Topper Theatre opened at the end of World War II. The Ritz Theatre then became a sub-run house up until it’s closure in the mid-1950’s,
