Located at the intersection of Elwick Road and Main Road in the Hobart northern suburb of Glenorchy. The Melrose Theatre was opened by 1946 when it was operated by Max Wallace. It was still open in 1960, but had closed by 1968.
After it closed it was converted into a furniture store which was later destroyed by fire.
