Located in the neighbourhood of Moonah, to the southwest of Glenorchy a northern suburb of Hobart. The Moonah Theatre was opened by 1946 when it was operated by Suburban Theatres Ltd. They were still the operators on 1960. It had closed by 1968. It had closed by 1968 and was converted into an ice skating rink.
It was later demolished for a modern shopping centre.
