Theater facade gets new look
CORNING, CA — The Rodgers Theater is getting a facelift thanks to a major fundraising effort. They’re in the process of renovating the entire space so it can serve as a community center and theater.

Highland Park will ask developers for options for theater building
HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The jury is still out on what to do with the Highland Park Theatre. Now that the city owns it, they’re asking for ideas. However, whether it’s torn down or reused as an entertainment venue is up for debate. A full copy of the RFP is available online here. The deadline for submittals of all proposals is Friday, October 28, 2011, at 4:00 p.m.

Ritz reopening coming soon

AMC Grand 24 will remain a movie theater after all
DALLAS, TX — After AMC didn’t renew the lease last year on the famous Grand 24, plans were up in the air for the future of the early megaplex. According to the Dallas Observer though, plans are in motion for half of it to reopen as the AmStar 14.

Aging Sutter Theater gets face-lift
YUBA CITY, CA — Sutter Cinemas has begun the first step of its planned restoration.
An aging Hollywood beauty received a face-lift Wednesday in downtown Yuba City in front of dozens of people, including a man who remembered her when she was young and beautiful.
Restoration of the theater marquee now under way along Plumas Street is part of the site’s restoration and hoped-for reopening as a performing arts center.
