Prevue Theatre

Wilder Theatres was the chain for this theatre.

William S. Wilder created this luxury theatre of just 23 seats next door to his Colley Theatre, now the Naro Expanded Cinema (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures). He used it for VIPs and fund-raisers. I would guess it was built sometime around 1936 which is when the Colley Theatre was built and I have no idea when it closed. It has been occupied since 1991 until at least 2006 by San Antonio Sam’s-A Texas Grill.

If you browse by seats, you will see that the Prevue Theatre and one other theatre are tied for first place for the least number of seats listed on Cinema Treasures. (I think the first 3 theatres listed are all mistakes). There must be other preview/screening theatres out there, I think there was one on top of the Chicago Theatre.
