The Picture House is a conversion of a 1930’s bus garage by the architectural firm Burrell Foley & Fischer. During excavations Roman remains were unearthed, which delayed the conversion by a few months.

It opened on 11th October 1996 with "Jude" and "Twelfth Night". There are two screens which seat 160 and 220 and there is a licenced bar for the convenience of patrons.
