Located in the city centre, the Alexandra Teatret opened on 24th February 1924. Seating was provided for 500 in orchestra and balcony levels. The Alexandra Teatret closed on 1st October 1940.

It was rebuilt, re-opening on 5th December 1942 with 724 seats. Designed by the architectural firm Allen Christensen & Co. in an Art Deco style. There is a relief panel on the facade by sculptor Olaf Staehr-Nielsen which depicts a winged Pegasus, flying over the city.

The Alexandra Teatret was equipped with 70mm in 1958. From 1st September 1979, the cinema was converted into a triple screen, with seating for 388, 149 and 137. It closed on 31st December 1981, it was converted into a discotheque in 1983, and interior decoration has been removed. In 2008 it is operating as La Hacienda Dance Club.
