My first two James bond movies i saw in a double feature “From Russia with Love"and "Dr.No” here .You can’t go wrong with a team like Sean Connery,Terence Young director,John Barry score, and a Saltzman&Broccoli production. The sound was great with out Dolby digital.

I Saw Roger Moore in the James Bond epic"Moonraker"in 1979.I loved all the billboard art work around the theater.I have some photos if I could figure out how to post them.It was not my favorite but way better than"View to a Kill.

I’ve never been in a theater projection booth before, this picture is amazing. If I could recommend a funny movie to you-Peter Sellers in “The Smallest Show on Earth” about two competing movie theaters in England.

Hello Mike (saps): This is my kind of temple, sometimes beer out of a frosty mug is better than wine out of a crystal goblet.

I saw the re-release of the late “1950’s” Steve Reeves movies “Hercules” and “Hercules Unchained” at the Farmingdale theater. I had originally seen them on W.O.R. channel nine. It was a big treat to see it on the “Big” screen. Steve Reeves had been the 1948 Mr. Universe, went to Italy, and became an international “star” making mostly Greek legends and Roman hero roles. When the genre died in the mid 60’s he retired. The new trend would be the spaghetti western, starting with the original “Django” starring Franco Nero.

My family never looked at the movie listings,it would be just"Lets go to the movies".We would see"What-Ever"they were showing at our local Babylon village theater.I was taken at a very early age to see movies I couldn’t understand let alone pay attention to.I was taken to see movies “Psycho”,Marlon Brando in"Mutiny on the Bounty"and Alan Ladd’s last movie"The Carpet baggers".A couple of years later I would be able to appreciate movies like"Lord JIM"and"A Man for All Seasons",between Elvis,Jerry Lewis,James Bond,Steve Mcqueen and Peter Sellers.I keeped a log of all the movies I saw at the Babylon theater, until I moved away and started hanging out with the"Bad Boys" that went to the Uniondale Mini Cinema.

I’ve been to this theater once in the early"70’s,and saw"The Legend of Hell House".The theater was a grand old small movie house in a early 20th century kind of way.You could imagine seeing a Fairbanks or Chaplin silent.Inside I remember it had visible support rods between the two walls, that the projector would show through with out effecting the image on the screen. It would have been great if some genius would have restored it instead of remodeled. We don’t need another crappy"Art"house theater.

I SAW A PLANET OF THE APES MARATHON THERE.THEY SHOWED THE FIRST FIVE ORIGINALS IN THE SERIES.SOME OF THE PRINTS WERE A LITTLE BEAT UP,BUT STILL IT WAS ENJOYABLE.YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY SOME KIND OF FESTIVAL FEE TODAY IF THEY DID THAT.THE THEATER OPERATORS
USED TO BE MORE CREATIVE IN WHAT THEY SHOWED,AND HOW THEY SHOW IT!

IT LOOKED LIKE AN OLD FASHION SMALL MOVIE HOUSE.I HAD NEVER BEEN TO IT WHEN IT WAS ACTIVE.THEY HAD DISPLAYS OF OLD TICKETS and PRICES IN THE BOX OFFICE WINDOW.IT LOOKED LIKE THE CASHIER WOULD BE A SKELETON and WHEN YOU WENT INSIDE YOU WOULD GET A RARE TREAT . PLAYING MAYBE A JERRY LEWIS MOVIE LIKE" THE ERRAND BOY".
