Worth noting that the 1953 repairs to the façade (covering it with faïence tiles) was intended as a temporary post-war fix which heritage bodies have been eager to reverse for many years. The original windows can be seen peeking through the tiled walls.
The tower mosaic domes are currently being re-created by a specialist company and will be installed in the near future. A photo showing the domes taken in 1988 here:–
I believe that in 1998, the 1931 theatre was entirely demolished and replaced by the current building – any reuse of the 1931 structure was minimal in the extreme, if at all.
