The building has reopened again as a club and the long disputed unauthorised removal of the two domes has been unsatisfactorily rectified with moulded copies lacking the mosaic detail placed on the corner towers.
By April 2009 the upstairs bar, occupying at least part of the cinema area has closed and the upper area is for sale, bingo and other businesses continue on the ground floor.
The Odeon seems to be used more and more as a giant billboard for specific films – the red does not suit it! The red plastic coating is for the film “The Boat That Rocked”

Two more photos from 2007 here. I was allowed around the former cinema and the upstairs screen is indeed intact and contains much original plasterwork. Sadly I was not allowed to take pictures!
