GCC opened this theatre in 1973 to compliment the Loews Lauderhill which they had purchased in this fast growing community.

Facing multiplex competition, GCC twinned the Lauderhill in 1975 and twinned the 16th street in 1982, briefly renaming it the Lauderhill 3 & 4 before selling it off to porn operators.

It ran as the 16th Street X rated theatre at least until 1986.
