The Aoikan, also known as the Aoi-Kwan was a prominent Tokyo theater that was known for featuring American films from the 1910s through the 1930s. It also featured some of the most famous benshi to narrate silent films. It was damaged in the Great Kanto earthquake of September 1, 1923, but reopened in 1924 with a new modern exterior.
