The Victoria Cinema opened on 26th December 1915 although one source gives this as a RE-opening date. It was originally managed by Alf Thomas, later a Mr McGrath and a Mr Mackie were associated with the business. It unique feature is that it had exclusive rights to films starring Charlie Chaplin. It was gutted by fire on 20th July 1926.
